Art & Sculptures in the Vineyard

19th July – 2nd August 2020

In its seventh year, High Clandon Estate Vineyard, twice overall winners of IWC Cellar Door of the Year, welcomes you to this celebrated exhibition of over 150 works of art by Surrey Hills artists – many new artists and favourites too – displayed in the beautiful Surrey Hills AONB with sweeping views to London’s dramatic skyline. The exhibition marks the launch of their 2015 vintage Endymion Cuvée from this multi-Gold Awarded vineyard. Tasting of our latest release, the vintage Cuvée, our new Gin and Liqueur is available. A percentage of sales of Art and Quintessence, goes to our chosen charity, Cherry Trees – respite care for children with disabilities.

High Clandon look forward to welcoming visitors to the vineyard and please be assured that we will ensure all our guests feel secure and comfortable in the current circumstances.

July & August 2020

Whilst our church buildings remain closed during the Covid19 lockdown, many of our activities have moved online.

Do join us for streamed Church Services: 10.00am Sundays and 11.00am Thursdays, via our Burpham Church YouTube page (for direct links access via our church website www.burphamchurch.org.uk).

We also have a weekly streamed Caterpillar Café event: released 11.00am each Friday – a story, songs, and crafts for preschoolers.

Please do contact the Church Office to request personal visits and calls.

Sadly we have to inform the community that due to Covid19 restrictions our regular summer community event Free and For Nothing will not be able to take place this year – we hope to plan a different way to bless our local community instead. Watch this space.

When not in lockdown…

First Wednesday of the month

Guildford Flower Club normally meets in the evening, on the 1st Wednesday of the month, excluding January, at Jacobs Well Village Hall, GU4 7PD. However due to the lockdown we have had to cancel
hall meetings until further notice. We continue to have a monthly competition for a flower arrangement, members email a photo of their entry into the club and the winner is chosen by popular vote. This also happens for the club’s photographic competition – take a look at our website and see if you agree with our decisions.

Throughout the pandemic members have kept in contact by a regular newsletter or through our monthly Zoom meetings where we hear who the competition winners are, members news, view DVD’s from previous events and take part in a craft activity or quiz.

We are a friendly club and enjoy being entertained by a variety of knowledgeable demonstrators who give us ideas and inspiration to try new styles. We also hold regular workshops on a variety of topics where members, novice or experienced, can gain skills and confidence in a friendly environment. The Club formed in 1955 and this year we were hoping to celebrate our Blue Sapphire (65 years) with some special events, but due to the current lockdown these have been postponed.
